Kenisee Lake RV Campground — Photography Gallery
Kenisse Lake Campground is a Thousand Trails campground in northeast Ohio, about an hour outside of Cleveland. This was one of the last campgrounds we stayed at in 2022, before heading back to Nebraska for the holidays with family. It’s one of the more memorable campgrounds of 2022 for me, due to its location which gave us access to many places of interest to Bailey and me.
Fall was just beginning to show in this part of the country and towards the end of our stay at the campground, the colors of the leaves and plants were just stunning. I do believe that this had a huge impact on how much I love this campground, but there are certainly other reasons for the love too.
The photographs above showcase just how beautiful the scenery is at this campground, especially in autumn. There was plenty of space to explore the land and walk around the lake. Our first week here was a little rough, but not due to any fault of the campground. The weather gave us four days straight of nearly non-stop rain and heavy rain at that. The drive to the campground from our previous gave us our first sight of an actual tornado forming in the clouds and extending downward to the ground. It was exhilarating and terrifying at the same time.
The only real negative to this campground was the cell reception/service. For those of you that intend to camp or vacation while at campgrounds, this shouldn’t be much of a problem, but for us who live and work full-time from our RV and therefore whatever campground we’re currently at, this is a big problem. Luckily, this campground had a fantastic counter to the crappy cellular reception…a workspace in the clubhouse.
The lake and land in abundance for exploration, along with the large clubhouse for work and play, this campground provided some pretty decent RV sites. My only real complaint of the campsites was that they were pretty small and the rules stated that we were not allowed to park in the grass. Well, we don’t have a large trailer and we parked it as close to the edge of the provided rocks as possible, but still had very little to no space remaining for our vehicle that wasn’t grass. We managed but some folks like to bring multiple vehicles and they would have no other option but to park on the grass.
No matter the weather or the poor cellular reception, this is still a campground that sticks out to me in a positive way. We hit plenty of campgrounds in 2022, and this is one that I will remember in the future in hopes to stay once again. What’s your favorite campground that you’ve stayed at? Why?
