Sioux Falls, SD June 2019

After driving through this town multiple times now, in June of 2019, I finally got the chance to stop and explore it. This town isn’t very well known, but it’s definitely a town everyone should visit. We made the 3-hour drive from Omaha after work on Friday. Upon arrival, we had intended to go out and see what the nightlife had to offer, however, we were exhausted from working a full day and driving. We decided it would be in our better interest to get some sleep and make a full day of it on Saturday. Our Airbnb hosts were very kind, we actually sat on their back patio and had a couple of drinks before retiring for the night.

Today is our only full day in Sioux Falls, we want to make the most of it. We knew for certain that we wanted to go to Sioux Falls Park, but first we needed to get some food in us. We ate at a place called Marlin’s.

In the past, I’ve been lucky enough to have the ability to stop at Falls Park during my trips through Sioux Falls. It’s an absolutely beautiful place and I love going there. This time we were lucky enough to visit while a multi-cultural festival was taking place. We weren’t aware of the festival, but we enjoyed it!

After seeing Falls Park, we went back to our Airbnb to change and get ready for what brought us to Sioux Falls…The Jim Gaffigan show at the Denny Sanford Premiere Center. The show was absolutely amazing and we did date right properly before the show at Grille 26.

Bailey and I haven’t really ever been ones for the late night party and outing scene, but we decided that tonight we wanted to give it a shot. Our Airbnb hosts also mentioned to us that the city has been working hard to make downtown a great place to spend some time.

Sunday, June 9, 2019

Since Sunday is our final day in Sioux Falls and we don’t have a very long drive back to Omaha, we decided to use as much of Sunday as we could for more exploration. We started our day by driving through Tuthill Park.

The rest of our time was spent just driving around and seeing what else the city had to offer. We did our best not to stop at too many places, these are some of the photos that I was able to capture.

I really hope that you enjoyed the story of my first true visit to the incredible city of Sioux Falls, South Dakota way back in June of 2019. The photographs were fun to edit and even more enjoyable to take. These memories will stay with me always. I’d love to see and hear your stories of Sioux Falls. I’d also love to hear stories of your travel experience to places that blew your mind! Connect with me on social media and sign up for my newsletter. I’m excited to connect with you!
