Happy Accident — Digital Painting
One of my favorite programs to watch is The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross. A few years ago I came across the Bob Ross Twitch channel where they stream The Joy of Painting non-stop all weekend long, every weekend. I would watch it whenever I was home and during the weekdays, I would just watch the full-length episodes on YouTube. I’ve wanted to give the painting method that Bob taught so many people a shot, but haven’t had the chance yet. So, I went with the next best thing, I tried it digitally…sort of. Using my iPad, I made this.
I am a huge fan of Bob Ross and have been for a few years, so it was only natural that I use his teachings and inspiration when I began to create work with my iPad. This was my first work made using the Bob Ross technique just in a digital platform rather than on canvas.

Bob Ross likes to celebrate the happy little accidents in his paintings and I try to keep that mentality with me for my everyday life. This digital painting came about while attempting to learn new things on my iPad.

Celebrate the Happy Little Accidents, as Bob Ross would say. Learn to take those accidents and make them a positive, a benefit. Use them as an opportunity and grow.

Just because we celebrate happy accidents in paintings like Bob Ross, the spreading of illnesses is not a happy accident but rather a frustrating one. Be courteous and wear a mask when around others if you're not feeling well. With this facemask, you'll look great doing so.
