My 2022 Year In Review

Yet another year is coming to an end. 2022 was a year that I won’t soon forget, well most of it anyway. Bailey and I bought our first home, we added a ton of new states to our list of places visited, and we experienced so much more than we could have ever expected.

Early 2022

In January, Bailey and I took a trip down to Kansas City to watch our favorite ECHL team play—the Newfoundland Growlers. They split the weekend with Kansas City and we had a great weekend. We also went to take a look at more RVs (during this time we were still looking at C-Class units).

In February, we purchased our first home…however, it wasn’t a brick-and-mortar like most people’s first home’s are. We purchased a 2022 Coachmen Freedom Express travel trailer as our first home. The trailer went into storage for a couple of months while we awaited our apartment lease to expire.

Making The Road Our Home

On May 6th, Bailey and I officially moved into our travel trailer for the foreseeable future. We spent the first two weeks in Nebraska to acclimate and finish getting our things put into storage. On May 20th, we set off for the RV capital…Middlebury, Indiana. I was lucky enough to be asked to become a Coachmen Brand Ambassador, so our first stop of our adventure was Coachmen HQ in Indiana. The team there was absolutely incredible and it was a pleasure to meet all of them.

From Indiana, we made our way to Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin to spend 10 days there with a couple of friends during their vacation. Door County, Wisconsin became a favorite destination of ours back in 2019 when we first visited and this trip only increased our love. Then it was time to head back to Nebraska to see family and to unload things we realized we wouldn’t need and grab things we would.

Now The Real Adventure Begins

Although it was unintentional, taking those first two weeks to remain near Omaha and then returning after a month out was the perfect way to learn and get a better understanding of what we were doing and what we would and wouldn’t need to have with us.

Here’s the full list of where we’ve been this year (in order):

The first numbered list is where our RV was parked, the second are the trips we took from their that did not include our RV.

As you can see, we traveled a ton in 2022 and experienced a lot of places and areas of America. While I love talking about each and every one of them, I’m not going to do so in this particular post. I would love to have discussions with anyone interested about any place they’ve been, so just reach out via social media or my contact form and let’s chat.

Ending One Year By Preparing For The Next

Ever since returning to Nebraska in mid-November, I seemingly haven’t stopped moving. My mom had a pretty significant birthday and the party for her was fantastic, we’ve done our best to see as many people as we can, Thanksgiving went pretty well, I’ve been working a seasonal job at the Nebraska Crossing Outlet Mall, and we’ve been spending time going through our stuff in storage and determining what from the RV won’t be joining us in 2023 and what will.

Thanks to Bailey being such an excellent researcher and planner, we’ve already laid out what 2023 will look like and booked as far in advance as we can at this point in time. We leave on January 1st and won’t return to Nebraska until October 1st. We start by heading south to Texas, then east, and back up into the northeast by spring. We will be revisiting some of our favorite places from this past year, but spending more time in these places. For example, Concord/Manchester, New Hampshire, and Lake George, New York only had one week each in 2022 but will have three weeks each in 2023.

Where Can You Follow All These Adventures?

While I will be posting some of my favorite photographs of each adventure and location here on Liam Theo Creative, deep dive stories (in blog form) will be on LittlesBigsAdventures.com and travel vlogs will be on the Littles & Bigs Adventures YouTube channel. If you haven’t visited either or subscribed to us yet, I highly recommend doing so. I have so much content that I’m very, very excited to share with you.
